"I think this book is really fun, approachable, and easy to read. The exercises feel practical and accessible, and I think the tone works really well for people who may not already be into exercise." Megan Reyes, Doctor of Physical Therapy
I hate exercise. Most people do. It's pretty normal. But I want to live with as much strength, balance, and independence as I can for as long as I can, without becoming a gym rat and having exercise take too much of my time. I want to enjoy my life instead of bemoaning my limitations. I want to minimize how much my needs impose on my loved ones.
What sounds do you make when you get up from a chair, or the floor? Do you take a moment to plan before you take stairs? How much longer before you need help getting carry-on luggage into or out of an overhead bin? Do groceries seem heavier than they used to? Do you have to be careful not to hurt yourself when playing with children, or when helping someone elderly? What have you noticed? What used to be easy but no longer is?
Hating exercise is normal. Not exercising is unfortunately really bad for your health and independence. Let's do the least we can that actually makes a whole body difference.
